Double cocking contributing to hook?
I've had an experience recently that led me to believe double cocking the left and right wrist can cause a hook.

It's my understanding that the only cause of a dramatic hook is a face to path aberration - so that must be the how... but what I have seen is double wrist cocking hands, along a slightly in to out path, result in a ball thats starts perfectly on line but violently hooks. So I'm having a really hard time wrapping my head around the why.

And before we proceed, let me make sure I've got a few things right... it's my understanding that the left wrist must be bent before it can cock (improperly). If the left wrist is flat and vertical it can't cock improperly.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure someone will have a real reason here pretty soon, but i'll give it a shot until I'm corrected With a double cock of your Wrists, and the #2 Accumulator being the Velocity Accumulator, my mind immediately leads me to believe that the additional velocity coming from your Right Wrist Uncocking is too much speed for your Flat Left Wrist, leading to a Bent Left Wrist at Impact and a Clubface looking at the target at Impact but closing too rapidly most of the time. I guess Jamie Sadlowski double cocks? And he plays quite the "draw", not to mention those Long Drive boys aren't the straightest hitters in the world

I was thinking you might be overcooking the turn on the BS, getting off plane causing some kind of violent shift. Or, the hip action is insufficient to carry you through and running out of right arm leading to lack of "feeling" downward thrust down the plane.

Perhaps experiment with some different ball positions and aiming points? 6-E?

I suspect the wrists arent the only issues.

You may need to define your terms here . . . Double Cocking by strict definition I'd say applies to the left wrist being cocked AND BENT . . . this isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on your grip type. Stronger grip types are gonna cock and bend to maintain the integrity of the left arm flying wedge . . . Cocking and bending the left wrist typically is a face opener.

cocking the right wrist . . . well that'd be a no no . . .

Yep, double cocked - left and right wrist.

I'm not trying to 'fix' anything - I'm just trying to understand how double cocking can cause a hook, given a mildly in to out path, and a ball that starts just right of target.
