Really speaks to the hand controlled pivot - hips respond to hands (feel, intent, actual microscopic movement - whatever) he is thinking of feeling his hands move down plane. (Thus preventing an early right hip spin out and the resulting disasterous interferance). Hips slide an amount, but his focus is in the hands.
