A friend was working on the range near one of this area's deans of golf instruction. He is considered one of the go-to guys if one is in need of quality instruction.
Instructor is teaching a 14 year old girl and states something along the lines of
"the rotation of the body causes the ball to draw or hook" to this girl, her father and a younger sibling.
I hope she can find a TGM instructor soon.
I had the same experience a couple of months ago. I was playing a course in south Atlanta and this older gentleman, probably in his 40's and a pretty good player was teaching this female HS golfer on almost every shot and just screwing her up even more. But the last few holes, she was managing to shank her driver. After awhile I just wanted to yell 'SHUT UP AND GO TO THE SWAMP. I WILL PERSONALLY DRIVE YOU THERE!'

Before LBG, I venture to say that few TGM students truly understood Hinge Action (and its three Variations). Moreover, they could not differentiate it from the true Rotation of Wrist Action (Release and Finish Swivels).
Had it not been for my personal association with Homer Kelley, I never would have understood these things myself.
Now, through these videos and others on this site -- together with many explanatory posts -- all can know.

Hey Jerry1967 I have found hinge action to be a tough nut. What helped me was understanding that there are ONLY vertical hinge pins in The Golfing Machine! Example: vertical to a horizontal, inclined, or vertical plane. I think my incubator is still working on the nuances. Face control is golf's last summit! I suspect that TGM proficients are still seeing feathers with regards to hinge action.

That compulsion to help has endeared you to thousands. if ever you have to move premises Bucket and I will be there with a u-haul and donuts (Bucket will supervise the move and guard the confectionaries). I have a high regard for PGA professionals. There were several that helped my parents rear a belligerent younger Okie. Many have fallen prey to intellectual inbreeding. Often they teach based on the strength of their own expert games and bits and pieces they have picked up here and there. A mantra based on the gossimer seems as if...give it some time etc. etc. I have run afoul of a couple of pros of late. It highlights the difficulty that the pro's pros on this site face. When Mike Holder was asked recently about TGM by an acquaintance of mine his seemingly enemic response was "There are many ways to skin a cat." After refelcting on that I realize that truth is never a wholesale proposition but can only be slow released one person at a time. Otherwise TGM adherents start to sound shrill and combative. Unless of course we can find a person with great communicative powers! Where can such a person be found? Yoda, is the Golf Channel calling, yet?

Regarding The Golf Channel, commentator Tim Rosaforte did call Saturday of the Verizon Heritage, and we talked about Brian and my relationship with him. His on-air "mentions" Sunday during Brian's win and in the next week's wrapup were very positive.

not trying to pimp the Aligment Golf DVD too much, but it really does clears up all the stuff from the book or posts that still dont make sense. Also Yoda's lesson w/ Colin in the video section is great too.
