It would be nice for perspective, if you would identify the three most troublesome.
|
A. ALLOW NOT THE SLIGHTEST UNINTENTIONAL CHANGE OF PRESSURE POINT PRESSURE;
B. ALLOW NOT THE SLIGHTEST MOVE TO PREPARE TO SWING THE CLUB FROM THE WRIST;
C. ALLOW NOT THE SLIGHTEST PREPARATION TO BRING THE HANDS TO A STOP.
(Unless, of course, the Stroke Pattern specifically rules otherwise.)

Thanks, Daryl. I appreciate your comments!
A quick search returns this 'blast from the past', aka The Archives. http://lynnblakegolf.com/forum/showt...nd+imperatives
I know I've written more. Those interested should search the Yoda posts for 'hand action imperatives'.

Zone 2 is the power package- composed of the arms(Accum.1&4) and the hands (Accum.2&3). Of course, there may appear to be overlap and so instead of getting items in a nice little box- sometimes you have to realize the context in regards to the discussion. Certainly the position of the hands have the ability to greatly affect "ball control". It's early in the season for your brain to freeze Kevin

Lag Pressure Bites the Dust

However, in the 3rd edition, these three Imperatives were further described as "Hand Imperatives". No doubt, this was to differentiate them (as a group) from the five "Basic Imperatives" introduced in 2-0 of the 2nd edition (and later expanded into the Three Basic Essentials and Three Basic Imperatives of the 4th and subsequent editions).
Then, beginning with the 4th edition, things took a real turn: Homer Kelley began to use 6-H-0 as a "curriculum" for learning Educated Hands, and he deemed that curriculum "imperative". He maintained the original three Hand Imperatives, but stated them in different words and in a different order. Plus, he added two more items to the list.

In reviewing 6-H-O of the 7th edition -- the Curriculum for Educated Hands -- I note that one of the three original "Hand" Imperatives (and now one of the Three Imperatives) failed to make the cut. That would be Clubhead Lag Pressure.
From 6-H-0 of the first three editions:
"ALLOW NOT THE SLIGHTEST UNINTENTIONAL CHANGE OF LAG PRESSURE POINT PRESSURE." [Emphasis Homer's] From 6-H-0 of editions four through six:
"Avoid unintentional change in Pressure Point Pressure." From 6-H-0 of the seventh edition:
--
So, Clubhead Lag Pressure -- The Second Imperative (2-0/B/2); Club head Control (1-L/B); and no less than The Secret (6-C-2-0) -- has been eliminated from the now "indispensable" curriculum of Educated Hands. The Flat Left Wrist (Club face Control / pick a Zone ) and Delivery Line (Plane Line/Club shaft Control) remain.
Go figure.
