No joke- we're on fire! I've never seen a later, hotter or a less humid - Santa Ana Winds- since I've been in California -brutal. The only unknown is what insurance company will be the first to go out of business- my guess- the one Bucket works for!

Sorry
Sorry Colonel...I should have thanked you for the recommendation. There is no need to get Mike O involved in this + we have a "Make my day" law here in Oklahoma.

Another issue to consider is what software and CPU you're using the cam with.

Most software apps allow direct digital video capture via firewire (sometimes referred to as IEEE 1394 or ilink port).

Capturing in camera and then transferring via USB is NOT the way to go.

You could buy a DV conversion device, but why bother when you can get cams with firewire output for less than $300.

Another important issue is the lens. Stock wide angle lens still require the cam to be 10-20 feet away from the subject to get your subject full frame. So, if you're using it indoors and you don't have a ton of room, look into a buying a powerful wide angle lens.

Stills and video cameras are converging.

Just the bought the new Casio Exilim 20. Cheaper than the original. Dont know all the differences. The high speed is really good at the slower frame rate for golf. The mid and super slow speed, faster frame rates are too crazy, too small and need too much light.

It does burn through AA's however, think 1970's Cadi drinking Esso extra. Also has HD video and an easy to download card it being a stills camera. The stills burst mode is fast and awesome.

Id attach a swing but need to work on my angled, off plane takeaway, butt push start down and over swiveled thrown away release first. Then Ill be ready to publish my masterpiece, if I am still alive.

I use the V1 software with my Casio exlim. The Casio outputs MOV Quicktime files. IT is clearly the best
