well....just got married.!
hey guys,

back from the honeymoon in negril jamaica after a great small wedding in a small church by the st-lawrence river in my home town.

People rarely get married these days where i live, so it was a pretty big deal for all my loved ones.

Running gag during the reception was that my wife bought me a titanium wedding ring, so my golf buddys said she paid it by melting down my driver since golf wont be an issue anymore!

subtle message!

congratulations.

Knock out a few kids and your job on this planet will be done

Get the marker down early though - people said getting married and having kids would mean less golf. I just told her early on, "Love, I was playing golf long before I met you, why would you want me to change?"

Congrats on the marriage, but not on the golf issue.

When I got married, all of my buddies were creating a tunnel of HG drivers (the golfer's sword) when we entered the reception.

Amen to that brother.

Birth to 2 - Diapers, Special foods, Pediatrician on speed dial
2-5 - Toys-R-Us entertainment, Zoos, Dr. Suess, Prep for Swimming, Soccer, Baseball, Karate, Ballet, (Golf), Huge birthdays and holidays.
5-14 - After school and weekend taxi service, sleepovers, fixing computer viruses, camping, and team coaching
14-18 - Damage control
18 to Marriage - Financial bailouts

I wouldn't trade it for anything and I'd do it over in a heartbeat.

Almost forgot -
School homework and projects with parental involvement (those are the ones where the parents compete with each other but try to make it look like the kids did it.)

One of my favorite quotes from Robert Heinlein's Lararus Long, but a tough one to follow,

"Do not handicap your children by making their lives easy.”

Sometimes you have to sit back and let them flounder around until they get it done themselves.
