That is intersting to me, although I didn't see it.... I'll explain. Back in the old days of "what instruction should I use this week" (pre- TGM) that was suggested as a drill by by Mike Chernak (an asst. at Deepdale in NY at the time). Mike got it from Rick Meskill (sp) I think, who is also a long island teaching pro. It was suggested to help stop me from crossing the line. I crossed the line pretty badly and basically hit blocks... but oddly enough it was pretty predictable and controllable. At any rate, I was told to hit balls this way.... maybe a couple of thousand iron shots would stop me from crossing the line... this was supposed to demonstrate how the right arm worked in the swing and I was also told it was impossible to do correctly and still have a long backswing that crossed the line. Now, I'm not suggesting that this isn't a viable drill... in fact, it was one of the few drills I found that helped a bit, but the second I was on the golf course I did what was comfortable, I reverted to my old swing... TGM worked much better and quicker, probably due to the ultimate logic of TGM and the fact that it isn't band aids.... it addresses the full motion of the golf stroke.
