if you cock and bend your left wrist that's gonna open the face so assuming it stays that way there's your push . . . plus if you are cocking the right wrist your angle of attack is likely steep which is basically "swinging out" plus path to the right that sounds like a recipe for pushes and hooks. Feel like you got the buttcap looking at the ball/plane line a lot longer should quite up your hand action and give you some "structure".

Not a super big fan of Stricker's motion but he has model wedges . . .
