The lag pressure you feel is a function of acceleration. If you feel less of it while you swing you have less acceleration. That shouldn't be the case, IMO.

Swinging is good for learning golf because you are forced to use your lower body and your big muscles (Zone 1) properly to get a decent result. If your Zone 1 has issues you will probably get better results trying to hit. But you will never get great results with any pattern before you master Zone 1.

Something you said about your pressure points made me wonder whether you actually change your grip when you shift between hitting and swinging. That shouldn't be necessary nor would I recommend it. The PP#3 rotation should happen because of grip change or a steeper seing. But because of a pitch elbow in the down swing, because you turn your arms with your pivot and because you aim for a dual horizontal hinge action (which comes rather natural with swinging when it's done right).
