First of all the book says that Plane Shifts are hazardous . . . so the question be comes why? answer . . . the face vector and path vectors can get skewed if you shift your hands around a bunch. An interesting study is Furyk . . . . his club does obviously WHACKY stuff but watch his hands and hand path. Doesn't really deviate. Also watch Brian . . . he basically has the hands occupying the same space on the way up down and they match thru his body coming through too. If you have the hands shifting all around then you are going to have problems with scattered vectors potentially including disruption of the #3 angle which will compromise you ability to control the face.
