I have attempted a version of what you detailed...thanks, although you made a distincition that a lot of people forget...start from fix, not adjusted address. I even created a pvc dealy-do (like duct tape, marvelous stuff!) where the vertical (low point indicator) is attached to the horizontal (plane line.) It leans against the left shoulder on an inclined plane, I then allow it to fall to my feet, then I match the inside of my left heel to it.

I conducted a little experiment the other day. I set up to 10 x 9 irons 10 x 5 irons and 10 x drivers. The point was to see how accurate I am at positioning the ball club to club relative to low point. The percentage was alarmingly lowwith the exception of the driver, my irons were all over the place (at least the right side of low point!) I guess a manipulative swinger can get away with it somewhat, but I think more precision is needed.
