The position of the clubface at halfway back is important because the student is aware of it.....also this is a great spot to check you wedges!!

Patty,

The key to halfway back is having the flying wedges in tact.....go to impact fix then lift the club up in front of you from impact fix so that it is parralel to the ground at this point the club would be pointing at some one facing you (eye to eye)now turn you shoulders to get the club to be facing someone that would be standing behind you(facing your right pocket). This will show you what your hands and the clubface should you look like halfway back. Also you left arm should be straight due to extensor action. Most player's are going to have the clubhead inline with their hands at this point. Hope that helps.

Sorting Through the Instructor's Textbook.
