Thanks. I have to tell you that your simple and straightforward question is challenging to answer in a simple and straightforward way. I would offer that no voluntary muscle contraction will move anything without a thought. I mean that you have an intention to move something somewhere before the muscles get into action. So, the "best way to start the back swing" requires you to determine what you are going to move (your hands) and where are you going to move them (postion at The Top or End). In The Golf Machine, Homer Kelly identifies the hands as the "command posts" for the golf motion. Your job is to discover the path your hands should take on the backswing. If you think these ideas will help you with your question, your next step will be to select a Plane of Motion to guide you on the backswing.
