Here is some random details:

1) St Andrews Beach was used in the film Chariots of Fire
2) Hazel Irvine, the BBC anchorwoman is from St Andrews and went to University in the town.
3) There is currently about 20 ways of saying Louis Oosthuizen
4) Its the 139th Open but its the 150th Anniversary because of the years missed out due to the World Wars. So the Championship is 150 years old but there has been only 139 stagings of the Championship
