thanks for the tips on Mizunos.
I have been looking for a set or two and wasn't sure which ones to go for.
Recently I have picked up the following from ebay:
Wilson Staff Dynapower
Hogan Bounce Soles
Slazenger Pinehursts
I already have a couple of Wilson Staff Persimmon drivers and one wilson staff persimmon 3 wood.
I love playing with the old clubs, much more demanding of your ability to strike the ball well. I am getting all those old sets re shafted at the momet as they have regular shafts and I need stiffer ones.

Why buy used when you can get Ben Hogan 1999-2003 Apex Forged 3-PW irons brand spankin' new for $250.00 to $300.00 from several internet vendors at this time, including Proshop Warehouse, Rockbottom Golf and Golfsmith?

Canadian Way Eh
Easy there OB - we don't want our cousins to the south to lose their impression of the GWN as the home of politeness. Actually I'm an old southern Ontario boy who learned to play in the wind on the shores of Lake Erie (comes in handy in Pincher). Now over 50, I wake wondering what will hurt each day, so I'll stick with switching into the blades as the temps warm. The frost bite in my left ear is testament to my attempts to extend the season. Other than that - No more "Hey guys watch this" foolishness for me. I like having cold weather equipment.

I know I don't live in the country that boasts Steven Ames or anything but I'm pretty sure my post was a direct quote from one of the McKenzie brothers Don't get much more Canadian than that!
I didn't know Brewers Retail by that name; a quick google search revealed it's the same thing as one of my all-time favorites: "The Beer Store"!
Not sure if they still do this, but last time I went to one of these in Toronto, my beer order came out of the back room on a conveyor belt...loved it (I'm easily amused). Growing up near Detroit, I can assure you that The Beer Store(s) in Windsor were very popular destinations for Michiganders under the age of 21!

This will be my first year without blades in the house. In the past, I liked to do the opposite - start with blades and transition to my primary set. I thought it Helped me find that solid impact quicker. Even an occasional 'stinger' is pretty unpleasant, so this year I'll probably just stick to my HG's right off the bat.

The Beer Store and the Brewers Retail are one and the same, the latter being more old school. Im more of a classicist, eh.
Yup, still got the conveyor belt and the guy on the microphone barking orders to his buddy in the back in the cool room, "Two four of five Oh", "party pack of Molson" etc. All sort of like a Soviet style distribution center or something.
If you think this is funny you should have seen the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) stores twenty five years ago. A small governmental like store, no advertising, no shelves or displays, you'd fill out a paper check list and hand it to a cashier who'd hand it to a clerk who'd go in the back and bring out your paper bagged order. Like you were buying illicit pharmaceuticals in east germany in the 1960's or something.

Timing
Hey - I'd love to commit but my trip back to the land of trees and people has to coincide with a nephews birthday. I'm sure it's in the May, June window but he don't golf so I will have no influence over his timing. Maybe his intended golfs - I'll have to make some discrete inquiries.
