they unoffically call the move through imapact a "twist and throw" so yes, it is a throw.
With the right elbow still on or just behind the rt hip,(punch) he says to throw the rt forearm in a half circle (circle line delivery?) around low and left while keeping the upper left arm connection
He wants you to use angled hinging although, no surprise, he doesnt say it in TGM terms.
For what its worth, JH says that using angled hinge (not his words) w/ a punch rt elbow is basically what stopped Hogan's hook.
So in our terms , an "Active" (as opposed to passive) Right Arm extension. A Right ARm Throw. That'd be Hitting then.............with the associated physics producing the Paddle Wheel motion , Angled Hinging.

yes for the most part, but he also says that if you feel more comfortable w/ using the left arm that you can also power by using #4 and letting the left arm roll counterclock wise across the chest to get the club on plane vs. lowerering the rt foreararm w/ a stationary rt elbow.
I think the left side guys may use more horizontal than angled, and even slap hinge when releasing.
Hardy guys do both.... Scott McCarron is more of the left side swinger, where someone like Matt Kucher is all rt arm throw, Pernice as well.
