I'm sure Johnny Miller knows how to strike the ball. But I agree with Daryl here; He expresses his swing thoughts in a very feel based language. Not precise info exactly.
You need to be where he is, mentally, to grasp what he's saying. Or you need to have him watch you hit balls and then maybe he'll rephrase as soon as he sees that first message doesn't go home.

I would talk to Johnny Miller about how to play the game.
I would come here to learn how to swing the club.
Not that there aren't folks here who can play, someone with the experience of Mr. Miller has ideas on the game that would be priceless....
Just another opinion my friend.
Cheers,
Kevin

I think we are talking about the same thing. When I say great player I mean major champion level. My point is that Johnny Miller knows more about golf than most and is qualified and paid to say what he wants. However as far as learning to hit a golf ball I would rather go to Kevin Carter. I doubt Johnny would add much to my game. Kind of like getting Mario Andretti to teach someone how to drive a honda civic. Now when it turns into a ferrari, maybe Mario could add a little something. But Kevin would do much better on the foundation.

Easy does it, Teach. Pace yourself.
Be sure to just practice those alignments and "Roll" the ball to the hole.

Yada Yada Yada
You couldn't beat me if you pulled a "Rocky" for 6 months. No more beer, red meat, wine, and Doritos.

Hell, I'm going to get a lesson from somebody in April, Master's allowing, and then I'm going to my Grinnell College 30th Reunion, renting a car, driving to MN, for awhile and then down to Bollingbrook, IL D! You can abuse me but you cannot hide! I am going to miss the Doritos, though!
