Broken but not Dead
Just thought I would throw up some video since I am kind of starting golf over again.
In case some might not have known I joined the Army (National Guard) and left the first of January 2010 after just 3 weeks of trying to hang witht he 18yr olds I tore my ACL and just returned home In March 2010. With the injury and not touching a golf club really since November 2009 I knew I was going to have some work to do to find a golf swing that would work for me. I started to try and practice again on March 19th 2010 and this is where I am now. Its not pretty but it seems to be getting some results.

Welcome back Blake, looking good!
Do you think you may be trying to do too much with your legs in that motion?
Happy to see you back at it!

Hey KC-
Thanks!
I thought the same thing about the legs but I looked back at some old swings and with this pivot I hit the ball best. Right now I am more concerned with what feels comfortable as to not making the knee hurt, ya know!
I had a friend send me this youtube video and it made me feel much better about the above video I post.
This guy has a little game! See any similarities?

Blake,
I see a LOT of similarities!
I'm really glad you have found a swing that doesn't hurt your knee, as you said, that's the most important thing. If I haven't learned much yet from Homer Kelley, I've at least learned there are trillions of correct ways to skin that cat. It's funny how still our minds eye has some preferences... got to keep an open mind and not get pigeon holed...
Sometimes that's hard to do when you believe so strongly in a certain type of motion. I just love the simplicity of YODA'S swing, and right now that is the gold standard my brain wants to use.
Keep up the great work my friend!

You've got a nice move, a great example of keeping the clubhead outside the hands on the takeaway.
You may want to grab some lasers to check your plane, you look to be well under going back. A few backswings with your back against a wall will get you feeling the 'up'. You can also check with a bench.
Combined with your angled hinge, you should get a nice high fade that is well compressed and gain some yardage.
