What helped me was watching the hands peripherally (as opposed to watching the clubhead peripherally). Address, Top, Finish. The three Stations.
The travel from one Station to another is Hand travel, not clubhead travel. When you're monitoring the Hands instead of the clubhead, it makes it way harder to throw the clubface at the ball. Thank goodness.
In Basic Motion, Homer said to start without a club at first, then with a club. It's the Hands you are swinging, ideally. Its impossible to swing the clubhead when there isn't a club in your hands!
