Trouble is that evrybody gets told told to " look at the ball"... "keep your eye on the ball" but it does no good. They are not up to the job of perceiving "more of its underside"!

Hide the whole of the target ball with the "eclipsing ball" and then if they see any of the target ball then they will really know what has happened!

Making obvious to the majority what the talented have always done... = teaching
