Address routine video-Ted Fort

Ted or other hitters. I was watching the address routine video with Ted, Lynn and Jeff. In Ted's video, early on I thought I heard Lynn say that the hitters right shoulder and right hip turn out of the way on the backswing. I got the impression that when the hip stops, the shoulder stops. Did i misunderstand or is that right for hitters? In other words, to the hips and shoulders turn the same amount?

I,m not a hitter but the answer is no.

If hitting, the shoulders should be allowed to turn just enough to accommodate the tracing of a plane line that is related to the angle of approach. (contrast with a swinging procedure that uses the plane line related to arc of approach - shoulders are turned more by such tracing). Hips should also be allowed to accommodate your desired tracing.
