Not grounding the putter
 

I've naturally taken a liking to not grounding the putter, and setting up in a very hands forward position that delofts the putter face. What are the ramifications of the above???

You will be able to feel the weight of the putter better without grounding it. At times people will in fact "bury" the putter head in the ground before taking it back...very bad.

Having forward shaft lean or de-lofting the putter at address will have many effects: The loading of the shaft will feel different, the hinge will feel different, the face will appear to point different at address, the left wrist and right wrist will feel different at impact, and the ball will be hit above the equator in a descending blow.

Isn't this desirable? I was taught as a kid to practice putting with a wedge to do just this!

Thank VJ. Is it better to start with the clubhead raised to the proper level at address? You don't hear much reference to this. Also, do you provide any remote video putting lessons to students?
