Releasing number 4
So, the release is always 4-1-2-3.
Define the release of number 4. |
6-B-4-0 THE FORTH POWER ACCUMULATOR The angle formed by the Left Arm and Left Shoulder forms the Forth Power Accumulator. It is not only an independent Power Accumulator, but its Triggering function as the Checkrein of the Right Elbow is also vastly important and it thus can be the Accumulator of the Accumulators – or Master Accumulator. Also see 2-M-4. |

Is the "release" of #4 when the angle from the left arm to the left shoulder (after it is loaded to whatever amount) starts to go the other way (ie the angle opens up / left arm moves away from the shoulder), or is the release when it reaches some other condition? |

Hennybogan,
Because it's seeking an in-line condition with the shoulders I'm assuming any movement away from this would constitute release? Granted, there's an optimal release point (would like to discuss this) that produces maximum power but I'll stick w/ anything from the in-line condition is release. What other "condition" were you thinking of? |
As Homer Defined it
HB,
It is defined as the moment the left arm begins to overtake the shoulder turn. |

I cant quite make out your new photo. Is that you giving the finger to somebody's golf bag? OB |

I used my iphone to take a picture of my overworked #3 pressure point. Guess I need a better camera. :) |
It looks like you're giving the finger to the Augusta National?!?

Can't have that kind of perception. Fixed. |

I was not joking, seriously couldnt make it out, thought it was a middle finger. Honest. Thanks for all the hard work around here in '08 OB |

Bucket, Henny, all Help me out here. Is the "on plane move of the right shoulder in startdown" considered #4? Is this when the right shoulder is considered part of the power package or part of the pivot? Or both? I dunno. Maybe its either part of the pivot (no axis tilt) or part of the pivot and power package. I really dunno. It works great what ever it is. Thanks for this. OB |
Chicken Egg
The release of #4 is defined as the moment the left arm begins to overtake the shoulders, and the release of #1 is defined as the moment the right elbow begins to straighten, which indicates the third side of the triangle is lengthening.
Trick questions - Why does #4 release precede #1 release instead of both occuring simultaneously? Under what circumstances would #1 release after #4 instead of simultaneously? |
Alright bagger, I'll bite.
