and...ACTION!

I am in the market for a camcorder. Probably in the $350-$500 range. As far as the missus is concerned it is to upgrade our current device for better preservation of happy times...however I intend to use it for better preservation of my machine! Any hints, opinions, admonitions, warnings, experinces, expertise (Your career as a mediocre porn producer/director does not count, Bucket, although I heard that you were a better director!)

Mike O, the FBI may be watching so no mention of the "snuff films" you have starred in, OK?

Send Bucket and I, $100 cash!, in return we'll provide consulting and industry information but more importantly your wife will never know the real reason for the purchase- you have 1 week!

I have been subscribing to Mike and Buckets movies on line. Very informative. Basically a new way of looking at the components using a medium that is most edifying. Weird, but boy do you get it.

A marriage of modern technology and kinesthetic theory not available to Homer or MacDonald (of the MacDonald drills fame).

Here is one of their licensed AI's demonstrating what they term "hip slide". Basically an on plane slide of the hips, needed for proper axis tilt. Watch this and tell me you dont understand the book in a new way.

PS That is Mike O. on the tabla's and our friend Bucket on the symbols. In the words of Lawrence Welk, "thank you boys".

She was in my A.I. Class out in San Diego a few years ago. We were going to re-shoot all the pictures in the book and replace Diane Reid with Hula Girl in a bikini, until Joe D. got wind of the whole thing :crybaby: . BBax and Sligo haven't been the same since.

OK dude . . . the ticket is the Panasonic SDR-H40. I got minez for less than fo' hunid. It's a hard drive camera with 8000 on shutter speed. Takes good pics. The only thing I don't like is the software. It works really good but the editing function is a little cumbersome. They got a mini-dv deal too . . . . Henny has one and said that the editing on it is easier . . . . it's a little cheaper too.

Thats why she kept saying "as straight as you can point."

Please ban Mike from the forum and take away his matches.

No joke- we're on fire! I've never seen a later, hotter or a less humid - Santa Ana Winds- since I've been in California -brutal. The only unknown is what insurance company will be the first to go out of business- my guess- the one Bucket works for!

Dude! I gave you the best one out there! See post #5

okie 11-18-2008 02:25 PM

Sorry

Sorry Colonel...I should have thanked you for the recommendation. There is no need to get Mike O involved in this + we have a "Make my day" law here in Oklahoma.

Another issue to consider is what software and CPU you're using the cam with.

Most software apps allow direct digital video capture via firewire (sometimes referred to as IEEE 1394 or ilink port).

Capturing in camera and then transferring via USB is NOT the way to go.

You could buy a DV conversion device, but why bother when you can get cams with firewire output for less than $300.

Another important issue is the lens. Stock wide angle lens still require the cam to be 10-20 feet away from the subject to get your subject full frame. So, if you're using it indoors and you don't have a ton of room, look into a buying a powerful wide angle lens.

Stills and video cameras are converging.

Just the bought the new Casio Exilim 20. Cheaper than the original. Dont know all the differences. The high speed is really good at the slower frame rate for golf. The mid and super slow speed, faster frame rates are too crazy, too small and need too much light.

It does burn through AA's however, think 1970's Cadi drinking Esso extra. Also has HD video and an easy to download card it being a stills camera. The stills burst mode is fast and awesome.

Id attach a swing but need to work on my angled, off plane takeaway, butt push start down and over swiveled thrown away release first. Then Ill be ready to publish my masterpiece, if I am still alive.

Do you use any motionanalyzer software?

Let me know how it goes...

mb6606 11-24-2008 08:23 PM

I use the V1 software with my Casio exlim. The Casio outputs MOV Quicktime files. IT is clearly the best

mb,

which model do you have?

I think the cheaper one does not output in MOV files.
