In the beyond

Tigers back 9 (holes 1-9) friday.
Tigers back 9 saturday.
In a US Open.
Post-surgery, with a really sore knee.
Not having competed for 10 weeks.

Playing like that and making putts like THAT!

Beyond amazing.

Bob Toski said it best years ago about Tiger- "He's a freak!"

bambam 06-15-2008 09:07 PM

Tiger's will to win is simply amazing.

GPStyles 06-16-2008 05:53 AM

How come Tiger's knee got less sore as the round went on?

I don't think he fancied the win to begin with but managed to hang on in there.

He's favourite now but I would love to see Rocco beat him by 3 (instead of Tiger winning by ten!) What is the spread?

He got that question in the NBC post-round interview. He said he "took some things to kinda relieve that".

Tiger's knee

I wonder if Tiger has considered turning the left foot out to take some pressure off (torque)? I severely injured my left knee in high school football and have had to play around that injury all of my life. I turn the left foot in varying degrees to take the pressure off the left knee and have been able for the most part to avoid pain.

tough call on this one---I really like both of these guys--Tiger because of what he is doing for the game of golf and how amazing he is, and Rocco because he is a western PA guy. Tiger will get more majors and this is probably Rocco's only chance---so I would like to see Rocco pull it out, but this is David vs Goliath. Then again didn't David..........

GPStyles 06-16-2008 01:57 PM

Through 8 holes theres only 1 shot in it.

Rocco doing a Trevino and talking non stop seems to be getting on Tiger's nerves - good tactic!!!

I'm supporting the Irishman in this playoff - Rock O'Mediate!!!!!

Wonder if they'll drug test him!!!!!!

This isn't going to be popular.

People that want the underdog to win only do so because they are always the underdog in all their endevours. They don't want the talented to win because they are untalented. They hope that the natural variance in preformances goes against of what is truely deserved because they are undeserved.

[Bold emphasis by Yoda.]

My name is Lynn B., and I am an underdog.

:(

<"Hello, Lynn B!">

I admit it:

I wanted Rocco to win.

<"We did, too!":golf: >

There.

I've said it.

<"We understand, and we still love you!" :iamwithst >

Losers -- you underdogs, untalented and undeserved -- unite!

:rambo:

<"Yes!">

:rambo: :rambo:

We must stand strong against the topdogs, talented and deserved. They are fierce competitors!

That's probably true in some cases (as a matter of fact, I'm sure it is), but it's too general a stance to be a flat across-the-board fact. I think that, particularly in sports, underdogs are often underdogs because they are underestimated, not untalented. A lot of people can relate to being counted out before they've had a chance to prove what they can do. I think that there are at least as many people in this group (more, IMO) as there are in the group you mention.

A House Divided

There was war in my house yesterday! My wife was pulling hard for Rocco...and I was rooting Tiger on. Although it would have been a remarkable win for Rocco the march to tie and pass Nicklaus' record is just too compelling! I never feel that good when an unsung hero wins a major (Paul Lawrie, Ben Curtis etc) What does that say about me? :confused1 I believe in the natural order of things! Of course Rocco's attitude displayed what is right and proper, for that I salute him!:salut: Tiger needs to cut down on the G..D's :naughty:

GPStyles 06-17-2008 11:19 AM

Before and after

Now its all over I can salute Tiger :salut:

This doesn't make me a bad person for wanting O'Mediate to win!

Where does this leave the American Ryder Cup team? Are Rocco and Kenny Perry sure things? I guess it'll cut down on expenses as most of the team will be in receipt of free bus travel!!!! :laughing9
