Pure
Who, on tour... do you think is a "True Swinger"? They make no manipulations, and have that one ball position where the clubhead will contact the ball so as to come off square at separation. If there are none, who is the closest thing to it?

VJ - looks to me to be pure CF, or at least much more than most.
Mike Weir and Steve Flesch come to mind too. |
Ya I think VJ maybe too....
Brian Manz....thinks VJ and Freddie.... How bout Daly? Phil? No? |

How bout Carlos Franco or Rich Beem? Both seem to let CF work for them. Maybe its just cuz of their long backswings though.
CW |
Not Beem I don't think....just from the clubface....not sure tho.

Not familiar with Raphael. Some that I think are close... Fred Couples, Lee Janzen, Jack Nicklaus(at times), R. Goosen(at times), A. Sorenstam. Lee Trevino, is often classified as a Hitter, but he is A VERY PURE BALL-STRIKER. This can be difficult to detect. Just because a player is SMOOOTH, does not necessarily mean he is a TRUE SWINGER. |
Steven Ames and Annika . Really like their swing.
|
Tim Petrovic, Larry Mize swingers?
|
How about Monty?

How does one learn how to become a PURE swinger???? It might hust be me, but it looks like most TGM inspired teachers do not teach pure swinging strokes or maybe my mine just gets tied up in jargon???

If you slow down Mr. Montgomerie, and observe his conditions just prior, during , and after IMPACT... you will see some good things. His Slide Hip Turn gives him an unusual look, but he does many things very well. He may be close to a True Swinger. |

A piece of rope swung back and through with your eyes closed. A heavy club can help you maintain that feel, especially with eyes closed. The trick is keeping that flow that these show you, while keeping your flying wedges and understanding that the low point is below the ground and in front of the ball. There are a lot of great teachers out there that are very good at showing this 'flow', but don't understand that the low point under the ground, ahead of the ball, requires DOWNPLANE force to both arms straight, flat left wrist, bent right wrist. If you can obtain that flow, and keep your lag pressure, you will 'hear' your shots very clearly. |
