Ah! Todd, I checked with the Committee- and this post does not count- so officially you are still at 96. If you have less than 100 posts - you don't get a vote!!!! Now, make another 4 posts and then re-ask nicely. Wow! I just had a flash back to the Movie - "A Few Good Men"!

. . . but, because of the club, teaching and tournament schedules of our participating professionals, that's way early. If we expect to achieve the important professional participation we want, we simply must get 'outside' the season.

The LBG Homecoming Classic will be a post-season event.

It's not the just the PGA, Okie. That one event -- albeit a 'major' -- affects relatively few people in our world. It's the 'whole season' realities we must consider.

I want this to be a mega-blowout event. I want top flight professionals in all the important disciplines -- tournament play, golf stroke, course management, physical and mental -- to participate. I can't do that at a price that is affordable to the majority of those who would like to attend if I do it in the summer.

Plus . . .

It's cooler later in the year.

:)

If you want to insult Ted then go ahead but don't insult me- Hit'm Come ON!

I usually always play and practice- maybe not that good but I'm always trying to get better. However, over the last three months haven't touched a club. I have been busy at work and looking at moving to Maine- so I've been stressed 24/7 with business, real estate and personal stuff. Lately I lined most of it up and got it on the tracks - Hence, these wacky posts to release some stress!

Now, the important thing is the tournament and the rules for lining up a partner- Lynn any rules? I know I said Scramble last time but that was a mistake- Best Ball! We'll need an LBG traveling trophy(s) for the year - one for each player of the winning team! It should be one big motha trofy - I might suggest that we have one full time Hitting team- just so we can make fun of them later at the bar.

Firstly, I'd have to pull a Bucket and have me play with me. I haven't seen the Hitting contingent on the list.

Secondly, what are you going to do? Are you going to make fun of how bad the Hitter's strokes looked when they won by eight shots? :rambo: :violent: \\:D/

Notice that my quote does not appear in the box as all the other quotes do. Reason? I was misrepresented. I never said the above! Further, I've never made fun of Ted, and I especially wouldn't months before potentially meeting him. I may have poked fun at people he's beaten by numerous shots on the course, but never him. Although, I should say, there is no way anyone can hit the ball well with their hands that far forward at address . . . Wait, Ted's going to hit one, better not look or I'll be proved wrong!

By the way, I shot 39 on the front 9 of Colonial Country Club from the back tees with the hands WAY forward, hmmmm, maybe it can work. I made it through the horrible horseshoe without losing too much blood.

If in fact it is a four ball event (best ball is not recognized by the USGA), I will take my man Chris Asbell. We are the Georgia PGA four ball champs and both swingers.

I understand that there are some cavemen coming you might be able to partner with or, like you stated, you could just play with yourself (the door is now open bucket).

:laughing9 :laughing9

It can't be done if you only own the 7th edition. But, if you have the 6th, it's "especially useful for Hitting".

Hitters can't hit it very far, either. :golf: :eyes:

YodasLuke 02-08-2008 09:36 AM

will the real Asbell please stand up?

I thought Asbell was a Hitter? Surely, he won't stoop to such a level to call himself a Swinger :queen: ...and, just for a trophy?

Yodasluke,

There ara lot of things I will do for a trophy, and especially them oversized checks that come with the trophy!

As far as being a swinger, hitter or switter, that is something golfgnome and I continue to work on. That is why I am so interested in participating in this little shindig. I figure with this many bright TGM'ers and Bucket, a concensus may be formed for me. The problem is, I often times can go both ways in a single round. As evidenced by some of my tournament round scores in the past.

My partner seems to have suffered from bucket's multiple swing disorder syndrom. Hopefully he will come back to me soon. I ask that no one speak or communicate in any way to him until this affliction is controlled by medication.

As Tow Mater would say in the movie Cars, SHOOOOOOT. We knowed you can play! (Sorry. I live in a 2 year old's world)

All of my time with Lynn has been a gift from GOD. I'm no Jeff Hull, and I really didn't start playing until I was 21. But, I've had great success, for me.

Anytime I'm around Lynn, I try to shut my mouth as much as possible. I've tried to be a sponge for the last few years. And, my life changed as a result.

Last year, I had five under par rounds for the year (through our last tournament). Four of those rounds were in tournaments, with only one recreational round under par. You'd think with two kids and no practice, I'd be going in the other direction.

My standings in the GA Section PGA:
2007 - 26th
2006 - 36th
2005 - 46th
2004 - 68th
2003 - 69th

Guess when I met Lynn...

I tell you this as an encouragement, and to tell others what a difference Lynn has made in my life.

If anyone has the ability to come to this event, it will be one of the best times of their life. That is, unless they want to keep shooting in the 100's. then, I'd stay as far away as I could. :)

Chris,
Bucket's been polite enough to graciously take some time before you tee off and help you with your game. I think he wanted you to understand - Are you breathing out or in - on the backswing? More details I'm sure to follow- don't worry about a thing.
