In order to meet a BLACKJACKNY or GLFNVEG, I'd put up with 10,000 flamers. It's something that's worth all the trouble. We had a great group of guys in NY, and all the posting was well worth making these new friends.

P.S. I have to admit that the personal attacks are a little entertaining. I think I posted this before, but it's like the lame antelope that runs across the field in front of the lion. Each time one of them levels a personal attack, I just lick my eyebrows.

I'm sure it was our honor, Ted.

And as far as your P.S., there's a joke in there, but I'll be nice and not type it:p

I just meant that they MOST really don't care much about improving. Not that anything is wrong with that but it's kinda dumb to argue and with people like that.

The internet golf forums.

Without the heated debates on all the other sites, this site, my site and Chuck's site would be much, much smaller.

You can convice some of the people, but not all of the people, but some of the biggest doubters WILL turn into rabid fans.

My best guesses (as of right now):

% of golfers who would ever take a lesson from a "Golfing Machine" instructor

15-25% max.

% of golfers who would ever visit a "Golfing Machine" -type instruction forum

less

But, we can try.

Brian,

As one who's taken plenty of lessons from golf instructors in search of "the truth" I think the number is higher than 15-25%. TGM still faces a lack of authorized instructors. How the hell can I live in Dallas and not have access to one?? It's not like there aren't a few golfers in the area.

.

Very true Brian, without the sometimes frenzied arguments I saw on GEA and elsewhere I would have never heard of TGM or got interested in it.

As I live in Ireland where there are not any AIs I get all my info from this site, yours and Chucks site.

Regards

Sean

(PS Got your "Former Flipper" video and it is very helpful)

Both sites serve a purpose. I look at the GEA like a bar scene. You meet some really nice people, but you have to put up with the occasional drunk. You first try to reason with the drunk. If he complies, great. If not, you might have to droop his lip or dot his eye.
However, I regard this site as the classroom. This is a place where like-minded individuals are seeking to learn from one another. The civility found in here differentiates between the two.

I can't seem to find the GEA site. It sounds like it could be quite amusing.

Hope you still visit the bar. Have an ale on me. I'll be at home. :p
