Not attending the anger management classes anymore? In just over a week you've increased your post count from 2.23 to 2.27. If I'm correct- that's .04 on 2500 total posts- that's close to 100 posts for the last week!!

Todd,
Sorry the minimum requirement is 100 posts to attend - however the good news is you have until March 31, 2008 to qualify. Of course the committee will need to deem your posts from 94-100 as qualifying posts. For example - Bucket has over 2500 posts - but only 47 that qualify- so you're ahead of him! The problem is that he gets special treatment so he's already in. I have an idea that some things are going on behind the scenes with Bagger and Bucket- but strictly speculation on my part.

Bagger,
I was looking for a emoticon that resembled Bucket's swing- but I couldn't find a helicopter that has lost it's tail rudder- could you find one of those for me. Also, I know you are running on limited funds and trying to cut corners but there are a few of us that would like to make a donation - so that you could have a emoticon golfer that actually had the whole body :golf: - how much and where do we send the check?

Mike would this weak effort also qualify as "carrying me?"

I've never tried to berate or insult anyone on this forum- but that is just dumb, stupid, ridiculous! You could load up the brinks truck and back it up and there will be no takers. Okie - I really think that you should reconsider that! I'm sure when you awake in the morning- you'll reconsider.

If Bucket can find his way down to the ATL, maybe you and Ted can drag him from The Swamp over to LaLa Land and we can start him on his training program.

Bucket can't come to Roswell, too many churches and elementary schools nearby. Maybe we should all just meet in Tennessee, less restrictions.

Back at'cha:

What would it take to get you there?

You are a long-term supporter with 377 posts. I'm thinking of an LBG 'scholarship' program whereby LBG will pay a portion of the event's cost based on the individual's post count. I know you are in school -- at least you were the last time we met in cyberspace -- so dollars are no doubt tight. So, your case may be extreme. Nevertheless, would such a program be a motivating factor?

And now the hook . . .

\\:D/

What if you really wanted to come, and you had already earned discounts at the 250, 300 and 350 post level. Would the 'hurdle' of 400 be an encouraging circumstance?

If so, I'm thinking we might get something going here . . . and get more than one or two people off the sidelines and into the game!

P.S. This is really golfgnome's idea. I'm just taking all the credit! Unless, of course, it doesn't work out, in which case it will be all his again.

:)

I'm still in school and after looking at how long the graduate school program I'm looking at going into, I might be in school for another 9 years, haha! If it is affordable for me, I would be there in a heartbeat, no question! If it is a matter of me making more posts, I might start making them so fast the counter won't be able to keep up.

Let's put it this way, the golf experience of my life to date is playing at Colonial Country Club (Fort Worth) last year, this school would top that by a long shot.

The inherent problem for me is if the school is after Labor Day. Before Labor Day it might be doable, after it would be pretty tough. Having said that, I certainly wouldn't want the school to be planned around my schedule.

Thanks Lynn and Jeff for thinking of people like me, it means a helluva lot!

So far, based on my PM box, the pre- and post-Labor Day camps are about evenly divided. Resort costs rachet up after Labor Day, so a late summer event might get the nod.

It will still be hot as hades down there in September so you may as well do pre-Labor Day so the costs are lower.

Ted will stink as much in July or August as he will in September.

LBG Homecoming Classic -- Makin' It Happen!

Was on the phone this morning with Jeff, Chris Asbell and Ted.

Lots going on behind the scenes, e.g., venue, dates, special guests and participants, LBG logo-ed and personalized tee gifts, tournament and special recognition awards, LBG Student Manual, econo-pricing (subsidized golf and housing :)) and format (including a 'day before' Yoda Intro to TGM for those who want to get up to speed before the Fire Hose gets turned on).

:eyes:

This will be a fabulous event -- a true 'homecoming' for those who have read and learned from ol' Yoda and his dedicated crew these past four years -- one that, years into the future and long after I'm gone, attendees will be able to point to with pride and say:

"I was there."

Platinum List

Whoa!

Add two more to the Attendee's List:

Jim Burke, Men's Golf Coach, Harvard University.

Todd Edwards, PGA, GSEM, Head Professional / Mountain Brook Club (Donald Ross), Birmingham, Alabama.

Start rollin' your pennies, guys (and gals -- do you hear me, Steph?) . . .

The value of the 'elbow rubbin' (alone) will dwarf the entry fee.

This could depend entirely on the LBG Homecoming Classic room assignments.

Recalling the words of that famous Kingston Trio Hit, Charlie on the MTA:
Let me tell you the story
Of a man named Charlie
On a tragic and fateful day
He put ten cents in his pocket,
Kissed his wife and family
Went to ride on the MTA

Charlie handed in his dime
At the Kendall Square Station
And he changed for Jamaica Plain
When he got there the conductor told him,
"One more nickel."
Charlie could not get off that train.

Chorus:
Did he ever return,
No he never returned
And his fate is still unlearn'd
He may ride forever
'neath the streets of Boston
He's the man who never returned.
What goes unsaid in all this is:

Mike O was on that train.

Now even the Green Machine is throwing darts! :naughty: Unfortunately for me you're exempt from my hit list.

Regarding Cometgolfer's post- everyone should know that Bucket actually not only posts under "12 Piece Bucket" but there are another 22 frequent forum posters that are indeed also Bucket in disquise- Comet Golfer is one of those aliases. Much like Phil Henry who has a radio show where he pretends to be the caller and the host - goes back and forth with himself.

It's only February but these 12 pages may well be Thread of the Year. I wonder how many new people, just cruising through the site and trying to get a feel as to whether to join, came across this thread and said to themselves, " What the hell was that!?" I've met Yoda and Yodasluke, but only know the rest of you from the posts on this site. I think I need to make a strong effort to attend whatever event comes from all of this---and I have medication for some of you. Carry on. Dr Dave

I am as excited as Bucket at a Tyson Chicken Plant! Well...almost. I'm not qualified to attend, but details have always been incidental to me.

Since the Crusades there has not been much of a reason for a pilgrimmage...until now.

Plus I might get to meet Richard the Chicken Heart!
