arc vs. straight line delivery

Lynn,
Thanks for your reply.
As a Manzella labeled "swinger" I see my delivery path on more of an arc with a sweep type of release. I haven't met too many people that are happy with the way their swings look on film and I'm no exception. I would love to have a more delayed trigger release with a straighter delivery. Would this be more for looks than results?
Regards,
Will
- also a big thank you for this web site.

The sooner you begin the Release, the higher the Handspeed required to achieve a given distance. Therefore, all else equal, the short, quick arc of the Snap Release will produce greater distance than the Sweep Release.

Note: When I discuss the 'Golf Machine Stroke' I mention beginning 'with the Left Wrist Flat, Level and Vertical. I am not suggesting this is the preferred Address Position. Instead, I am referencing its Impact Fix alignment and establishing the Plane of the Right Forearm to direct the Hands on the Backstroke's Right Forearm Takeaway.

Also, when discussing the Right Forearm Flying Wedge, I concentrate on the Cocking of the Right Wrist as the #1 'bad guy' because Doug's Overswing was causing some problems there. However, once the Impact Fix degree of Bend has been achieved (usually at the Top), then there must be no additional Bending or Flattening of that alignment until the end of the Follow-Through.

Enjoy!

A quality clip with some creative hand manipulation with the dowels. My attention however went to your weight distribution and knee positions.

Appreciate the opportunity to participate and my compliments on the new site.

Thanks, DRW. We're just as happy as we can be with our new digs. And we've got so much more on the drawing boards. Just keep on comin' back and you'll see!

And thanks to for the compliments on my dowel work. As my good friend and long-time Massachusetts PGA pro, Drew Chapman (drewitgolf) likes to say, I "do-well with my dow-ells!"

The Life of a PGA Pro

Sorry for my absence. We are still going full bore up in New England. At least for a few more weeks. Tournaments, lessons... I can hardly find time to read all of the great posts, let alone find the time to put in my own "two cents".:( Throw four kids into the mix and time is not on my side. I hope to be more committed in the future, if not just committed;) .

Also, I am still lamenting over my Boston Red Sox. Injuries and lack of pitching did them in:( .

As General Douglas McArthur said, "I shall return".

Great stuff! But is the video complete? - it stops suddenly. My download shows only 49Mb.
