My point (vague and incomplete) is that my hands do not feel like they are going left until I swivel out of follow through.

what is a "low bench"? And could u elaborate or explain what people freaked out about? The left path of your hands?

Bench me!

Find a low bench. Take your stance with a club and allow the shaft to rest on the edge of the bench. Move move the shaft back and forth using the bench edge as a straight line guide. what you will notice is that although the shaft appears to be moving straight back and through the clubhead is moving in an arc (circular.) This should cure once and for all the idea of swinging "along" the target line in the traditional golf instruction sense. I worked very hard as a squirt to develop the much prized in to out swing. Accordingly I developed a below plane backswing and an above plane follow through. It will give you a sense of the plane. Hitting hundreds of basic motion shots using pvc bench is one of the best things I have done for my game.

Sure...especially a face pull. All we are really doing is tracing a straight line. For many people on plane feels like everything is going left....afterall the club has to go back up and in. A lot of good players have an in to out swing thinking it is the same as an in to out impact. Homer gave me an in to out impact!
