Could you elaborate and help clear my confused head?

I apologize for the threadjack.

No problem on the threadjack but I would highly value an answer to my four questions if at all possible.

Swinger or Hitter- the guy produces a sweet Horizontal Hnge thru impact.

What video are you talking about? Point me to it because I guess I missed it.

I think my thread got hi-jacked a bit, so I was still wondering if anyone that is qualified can take a shot at these questions. I think 2) is the most important to me right now.

1) What is the difference (if any) between "methods" of takeaway's for Jeff Hull and Brian Gay that discourages one (Hull) from using impact fix while not stopping the other (Gay) ?

2) Are there hazards with Impact Fix at start-up for Swingers - something that I need to watch out for such as too much right wrist bend if there is such a thing ?

3) Does Brian Gay still use Impact Fix start-up or has he switched to adjusted ?

4) Any other notable swingers that use Impact Fix at start-up ?

I am also interested with these questions, any comments?

The hazard with starting at impact fix for the swinger is that "he" won't have a lagging clubshaft on the backswing - which would create independent momentum in the clubshaft and set-up the appropriate loading action.

TGM says EA is passive at address for swingers. I would associate an "Impact Fix" address position as one that includes EA in order to establish the same geometry that, for the swinger, will ACTUALLY be a result of CF during the swing. The comment above regarding the benefits of adjusted address as it relates to a lagging (or dragging?) takeaway, in my opinion, is probably spot on. One of the pros that I work with actually wants me to feel as if I could drag the club over a 2x4 on the takeaway--clearly not conducive to impact fix address or active EA. Although I'm not nearly qualified enough to question whether the swinger really employs RFT...I do know that when I start at Impact Fix and use active EA, my RFT clearly controls the pivot. When I take it back from adjusted address, disengage the right tricep (EA) and try to feel the loading at the top in PP#3...I really feel like there is as much of a contribution from the hips on the takeaway and they "help" the RFT to the top . I figure the hips are the motor driving the swingers CF on the downswing...why shouldn't they do the same on the backswing. I'm very interested in other's replies to Knob on this.

I won't disparage the use of any take-away procedure a player uses. For one reason or another, a Player finds a way to establish alignments critical to their success in striking the Ball.

I can shed some light on some of the more often unnoticed results that the Right Forearm Take-away provides.

The RFT
 1. Forces a player to use Extensor Action
 2. Fully Loads the #3 Accumulator at the end of the Take-away
 3. provides the critical start-up procedure to use the Magic of the Right Forearm
 4. ...which allows the Left Wrist to Cock while maintaining a Level Right Wrist
 5. ....Which causes the synchronization of the Left Wrist Cock with the Backstroke Length
 6. Helps create and sustain the critical Wrist Action Alignments needed to Load for Hitting or Swinging
 7. Controls the Clubshaft and Clubhead from the Start
 8. Provides the ability to Trace the Plane line during the Take-away
 9. Establishes the Flying Wedge Alignments Immediately
 10. Aligns the structure of the Power Package
 11. Causes the "Proper" reverse Loading of the Power Accumulators ensuring that, for example, a 3 Barrel Swinger will Load 3,2,4 and compliments the release of 4,2,3
 12. Provides the alignments needed for a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full stroke without making any further adjustments or changing any procedure (Actually, it provides the alignments for every swing you'll use, from putting to driving)
 13. ensures a 3 dimensional Start-up
 14. if continued to progress, sets the correct amount of Pivot Lag for any Length Stroke
 15. If the amount of right wrist bend was established at impact fix, which varies with ball position, then that same wrist bend is established immediately with the Right Forearm Takeaway because the RFT first establishes the Primary Lever
 16. Will establish any Swing Tempo and accommodate any swing thought

I'm sure others can add additional detail but one simple quality about the RFT is that all of the above, as complex as the mechanics may seem, can be reduced to ONE SIMPLE FEEL. And that can be reproduced as easily as any other.

I'm not opposed to the Lagging Clubhead Take-away, but the player will need to perform all of the above somewhere else during the Backstroke.

It would be nice if a video demonstration can be done for a swinger with an impact fix address. BTW, any advantage with impact fix (hand only) with preturened hip for both hitting and swinging?
