Oh? Halfway back, make sure that the clubface is open. Then get the Book. :)

Are you attending the seminar in October?

Dude . .. where do the bad shots go? What is your grip like?

Daryl 02-09-2008 12:48 AM

Mike O can explain everything.

Gotta get the book!

Fortunately Daryl's sardonic sense of humor is matched by his keen intellect!
Great combo, really. But per usual he makes a good point. Buy the book. Golfers spend a lot of time flopping around searching for ways to describe this or that. HK gave us a workable vocabulary, a viable vernacular that is 100% easier to decode than groping around in the dark for a shared euphemism! Know what I mean?

There are some guys on this forum apart from Yoda that know the book as well as any dozen guys in the world. To benefit from their knowledge you gotta get a few eleventy-three B's down! You were just chided by one of them!

Don't think elbow, think FOREARM.Sounds like your elbow is leading the backswing.Trying to get the #3pressure point leading the forearm on the way back-(don't worry, your elbow will follow:) )
Your right hand will be more on the plane angle.
Clap your hands-do you start with the elbow?-No.
Good luck:salut:

My advice is to keep the right elbow in place at the start of the backswing by swivileing or rotating your right forearm as if you were going to hand off a baton to someone standing to your right. When you have reached this position your right elbow should still be close to your side with your right forearm pointing straight away from your target. From this position simply cock your right forearm towards your right shoulder (this will also automatically cock your left wrist) to complete your backswing. Dont forget to allow your right hip turn behind you during all of this, otherwise you will have a limited shoulder turn.

Also, move into your impact condition and hold that pose for a while. Look and verify that your left wrist is flat and matches the leading edge of the clubface (in other words where the back of your left hand faces the clubface should too). If your grip is very strong or turned to the right at adress, the clubface will look very closed when you achieve a flat left wrist during the backswing.

A word of warning: I am no expert when it comes to TGM, and I definitley check my ego at the door when entering this forum. So if I am incorrect in my explinations or concepts please feel free to correct me.
