The Mechanic
Mr. Jimenez is on a roll again this week!
Ever since he and YODA got to be buddies at the PGA at Hazeltine I have been more interested in watching him play. Man, when he gets it going, he is like a pit bull, reminds me of Brian Gay.
Did you guys see his little rules snafu, and how he handled it... FIRST CLASS GENTLEMAN.
Go get em today Miguel Angel!!!
Kevin

Ive loved the guy ever since I saw him warm up on the range at the 2008 Masters. It was Saturday, tension filled the air. Golfers entered the practice field with police escort, entourages in tow. All looking alert, excited , worked out even but Miquel was different. He definitely had not just come from the fitness trailer. Sleepy eyed, stiff he assumed his teeing area, gingerly lit a cigar, bent over his staff bag and began to wag his rear end around. First clockwise then anti clockwise for what seemed like five minutes. His bright three tone Footjoy classics in full view, the cigar, the burlesque warm up routine. It was laughable , many did.
I remembered his countryman Seve's thoughts to himself when playing the PGA pro's for the first time. "You may have nicer shoes than me, but Im going to beat you!" Miquel had the nicest shoes there that day but the same attitude Id say.
I have a feeling he's one heck of a good dancer too.

His entourage seems to be the lovely lady, the Ping bag, the caddy and his supply of red wine and fine cigars. My hero.

Miguel has won more tournaments this year than any other player on the PGA tour or Euro tour. He easily is the best fairway woods player in the world. The euro tour is sometimes a lot more fun to watch than the pga tour. In the touney Molinari eagled a hole to pull one back after Miguel had a five stroke lead at some point. Fun to watch him hold on.

MAJ is an old school type player and fun to watch.
The kid chasing him all weekend is something to behold - what a swing!

Hope you guys don't slip on red, white and blue tinted glasses the first weekend of October because I have a feeling the mechanic is going to open up a can of whup ass at Celtic Manor!
Still my favourite ever Ryder Cup quote was when Bernhard Langer asked all of his players prior to leaving for Oakland Hills if they had any special requests.
There were a few different answers but Miguel said nothing for a while until the moment came and he stated:

I have 3 requests,
1: Decent Cigars
2: Very good Rioja
3: Good coffee, the coffee in America is sheeeeeeeet!
