Hitting to Swinging
I'm in the process of changing from hitting to swinging. My right arm keeps trying to dominate the downstroke. Anyone else experience this?
Pull. Drag the mop. Pull. Drag the mop. My new mantra.

Have never been a hitter, but fight the right arm push a lot.
Try some left arm only swings to get the feeling...also make sure your pivot is doing it's job as a swinger, not stopping through impact forcing the right arm into the game.

ANSWER . . . left arm only swings. Feel you massive rotor (yeah baby!) load your #4 pressure point from the feets up. Start down waggles left arm only. I have come to the conclusion that when swinging a proper start down is critical. You are blasting the club into its oribit and from there your job is not to disrupt that orbit . . . be that with your right arm or an effort to steer the clubhead to the target and not DOWN PLANE.
Once you can bang some divots out of the ground left arm only put your right hand on the club but be continually aware of #4 and #2 for awhile since you have been so focused on the #1 and #3 pressure points in hitting. Blast that primary lever assembly into its on-plane orbit and let the club SLING OUT. SLING THAT SUCKER OUT WITH A LEFT WRIST THROW . . . and it is OUT OUT OUT . . . DOWN AND OUT.

Make sure it Pulls or Drags only.

YOU load and sustain the "LAG", during which the " LAW" releases it, ideally beyond impact.
"Sustain ( Yang/陽) the lag ( Yin/陰)" is "the unification of Ying and Yang" ( 陰陽合一).
The " LAW" creates the " effect", which is the "motion" or "feel", with the " cause", which is the "intent" or "command".
" Lag" is the secret of golf, passion is the secret of life.
Think as a golfer, execute like a robot.
Rotate, twist, spin, turn.
Bend the shaft.

I too was moving from hitting to swinging..
in swinging, the right shoulder goes down plane delivering a Pitch elbow position ie the right elbow: keep in front of the hip thereafter. The pushing of the right shoulder will push the left arm ie pp 4 1 2, YET PULL and DRAG the forearm+ Right elbow.thus passively loading pp3.. Thus a tight feeling .
if you want to do karate chop.. make sure the #p 3 is above aft of the shaft so that pp3 will always trace down plane. and the extensor action pulls the Club instead of the thumb or arms.. slightly different which will facilitate pitch elbow ; On plane motion..
Also make sure that PP# 4 1 2 is all loaded and tight and kept tight with proper RFT ...for full swing and PP 1 2 is loaded for non full swing. for assembly loading.. And release of right Elbow will happen( instead of making it happen) very very late.
this is what i think.. hope it helps.

Practice a very free swing ,allowing CF to do all the work in terms of loading ,storing and releasing .
Get the feeling of no conscious effort to do anything with the club but feel the 3 essentials and imperatives.
This is just based on my experience and is just the start but I did spend a lot of time in "the misguided struggle"

Release
It should be a SEQUENCED release, not the SIMULTANEOUS release you've probably grown accustomed to as a hitter. I like the feel of a left-handed karate chop with the left wrist uncocking ON PLANE. The roll or swivel of the face will tend to take care of itself. (I struggle a little with the tendency to use a simultaneous release when things get a little off, and I've always been a swinger). You gotta trust that the face will square up via the turning of your torso and arms. And as 12 piece referred to, you gotta let that left wrist uncock fully!
Welcome back from the darkside.
