Right Forearm Action in putting?
I have recently been struggling with the putter and I couldn't seem to figure out why until recently but I think I might have figured it out.

I have begun to become far, far more right side and particularly right forearm centric with golf in general.

My old putting style was the old tried and true rotate the spine and keep everything else locked into place method.

Lately I have been getting the club face back way too far and as a result deceling into the ball.

I believe that is a result of me blending a RFT with my old spine rotation.

I was wondering what style I could use, specifically, to employ a more right side oriented putting approach?

I came across a post by Lynn stating that ideally every golf stroke is a miniature version of a complete golf stroke so it seems like a RFT putting stroke makes perfect sense seeing as how I use the RF to do everything else.

It seems long putters are more conducive to a Right Arm powered putting motion and me being 6'5 and 295 that might help my back a bit as well.

Would this be a good route to take?

Great idea for a thread!

I found right forearm driven putting to be a great cure for my putting yips. I like to set up very much like Jack Nicklaus in the enclosed picture, and a pattern that looks very much like Clampett's teaching in The Impact Zone.

Set up at impact fix
Low right shoulder
Flat left wrist
Bent right wrist
Right elbow/forearm driven
Don't run out of right arm through impact
Extend the right arm at finish
Maintain that pressure in PP #3!

Yoda and VJ do a fantastic job of teaching putting patterns in the Alignment Golf putting DVD. You can power the stoke with the shoulders, arms, or hands, but never mix those options!

Yoda also does a wonderful job of explaining a right side driven stroke with the long putter, including setting that up at impact hand(s) as well! Even though I have no problems with the short putter anymore, I use the long putter often to take the stress off my back just as you have mentioned. Magic of the Right Forearm and PP #3 with the long putter? Absolutely!
