Ben Doyle's tyre drill
Why does my club bounce off the car tyre when I hit it?

What do I need to do differently?

Your club should bounce during the Tire Drill, but only once. If, after the first rebound, your club strikes the Tire a second time, then you're using Hand (or arm) Forces. Those forces can't dissipate as fast as the club can return to the Tire.

In a typical Swing, no hand forces are used to strike the ball nor are arm forces used during any part of the Downstroke. Only Pivot.

The Pivot does the work, the hands guide.

Nice one Double D. Hence his refrain "no, your adding". What would a hitters club do? Or is there such a thing as a hitter? Oh and what module are working through? Kidding.

Thanks Daryl, I'll try that.

What is the answer to OB's question as I hit these days rather than swing

Hmm? I don't know. Better ask Yoda or Ted. PM them. Keep bothering them until they answer. I'd like to know myself.

I know Yoda reads almost all the posts so I'm sure he'll chip in when he feels ready.

No, I think it's better to bug him about it until he answers. Do you have his Phone number?

A hitter's club should do the same thing. The key is steady, smooth force either swinging or hitting.

The heavier the club feels, the easier this drill is. Imagine you have a sledge hammer.
