Losing it

I haven't commented on my golf achievments lately and I am sorry to say - I haven't had any. From being consistenly scoring 36-38 pts stableford, I now have dropped to 29-32. My hcp is going up again. I'm slicing and probably OTT again. No short game magican either, allthough my bunker play has improved. I believe my timing is off and I have too much shoulder activity in the downstroke not sustaining the lag, throwouts etc. I believe the LW is flat though, but that's not enough to get the round going.
Sorry, that I can't contribute with any success history. I don't know why it 's so difficult for me. Old dog - new tricks syndrome? We had deserved better - Yoda and I...:crybaby:

...
We have a 18 holes old boys tournament each Wednesday here at my home course. The last two times I have got 37 and 38 pts, so my hcp is down 1,2. I'm actually not satisfied, making a lot of bad shots, but it's much better than last year - as aspected. But it should have been even better. Today I failed twice with a short basic motion chip shot. I have to do these things much better....but nevertheless: it's slowly going the right way for the first time in 7-8 years...

Air, patience and persistence is what I think you need. You have given all of us so much information with your posts on this thread that I know you must be patient to have found it all. Just have faith in what you learned when you were with Lynn and keep practicing and remembering the fun you had at the swamp. I have confidence that you will turn things around and be back on track again soon.

Hope so. I need to read my notes again and see what's missing. I'm not making the nice finish as I should and probably not getting the weight over on the left foot at impact/followthru. Standing too normal and not using the right foot pulled way behind the left..

BTW - I don't actually understand all the posts I have found, but it's the only contribution I can make.. :golfcart:

It Comes and Goes

Shoot, not even a month ago I was hitting every miss possible. pull hooks, tops, sh--ks, you name it and it came up more than once in my round. But I took a lot of time off the course and focused on what I knew would give me the results I wanted, and this last week all of my rounds have been under 78 from the back tees (which are only 6500 yards at my club :eyes: ) This is my roundabout way of saying that if you dedicate yourself to what you know will improve your game, then you'll see the results eventually. I think Hagen has been quoted after hitting bad shots as saying he was just meeting his quota. That's how I look at it, and maybe that perspective will help you as well. You're going to hit bad shots, and have bad rounds, but your overall game will improve over time if you just stick with it :salut:

I would re-establish the fundamentals at basic motion then punch and acquired motion.

I use a 10-2-D grip. Does the baton twirl drill apply to me. With other grips it is easier to do. It seems swiveling into impact makes the finish swivel logical and the feel of the roll is continuous. So with a 10 2 D grip do I prepare to roll and if I do prepare I guess I roll after both arms straight. Or do I just concentrate on a horizontal hinge since I am a swinger. Since I learned about knuckles up thru impact with the 10-2-D grip at Cuscowilla things improved. However now I am having trouble staying down thru the shot with the driver.
