last training.

As my last preparations I went to the golf hall and hit 100 balls. It started ok, but got worst. Of the the last 15 balls 10 were shanks, so there is some work to be done on Tuesday. Tomorrow - Norwegian time the bus goes 05.30. About 20 hours travel. Sounds crazy, but I know what I'm going to...

AT Cuscowilla again

I'm here after 22 hours. First lesson at 10 o'clock. More later.

Bad weather today, but it's going to be fine the rest of the week. Strange to be back - in one respect it feels like an eternity since October, but once we got things going it was just like continuing something from last week. Yoda is doing all kinds of things to make me have the right flying wedges alignments in the downstroke to impact and followthru, so I can stop coming OTT and steering and what not. But we are getting there..:golfcart:

Should be about 68 degrees today. Some clouds in the morning and clearing in the afternoon.

Sounds ok - and it's going to be even better as time goes by. It's still snow on the ground at home, so I'm not complaining.

Better late than never..

Simple and easy is often the best. Strangely (?) enough I haven't heard or done the free armswing. This is much better: let the shoulders stay more less where they are and swing the arms all you want. A new and rewarding sensation. But steering must still be avoided! Roll that left wrist :golf:

Ya, well, we normally call it "Delayed Hip Action".

ok. So now I know a little more. My first thought was to say - call it what you want, so long as it works, but I'll go with delayed hip action. (and delayed shoulder action)?

The Arms lead and move the shoulders which lead and move the Hip Turn on the Backswing.

Yes - I know in theory. And it's supposed to work from the ground up in the downswing. But even here I feel the benefit of the free armswing - at least in comparison with what I have been used to doing. :golf:

Playing golf

After 3 hours instruction and lunch yesterday I played the first 9 holes here at Cuscowilla under supervision of Yoda. Nice course. It started bad on the 2 first holes - it seemed like all the hard work was for nothing. I fell into my bad habits again. I needed some talking to and at hole 3 I got my first par. From then off it was mostly good ( for me that is ). 3 more GIR and 2 of them par. It could have been better, but I'll take it for now rusty as I am. Thanks Yoda.

Birdie Man (Almost!)

Here's a photo of Air lining up his birdie putt on the par 3 third hole at Cuscowilla. He attacked a dangerously cut left pin with a six-iron, and his shot landed less than 15 feet from the cup.

Unfortunately, like the "two birds in the bush", this one got away. But not for lack of a bold effort. In fact, Air had to jam home a five-foot knee-knocker to get his well-deserved three!

Good bye Cuscowilla

I'm leaving tomorrow. So I had my last lessons today in warm and beautiful conditions. It's not very likely that I'll ever come back - but you never know...

Back to the snow, but in a month's time I think the winter will lose its grip for good.

I'll miss this place for sure. But it's not just the place - it has much more to do with Yoda. He has given me more than I could hope for golfwise and in other ways. I'm looking forward to seeing the video. And if alignments are forever, I'll be forever grateful that you have shown them to me in your inspirational way of teaching. Thank you very much!!

It was my privilege to work with you, Air, and I am a better teacher because you were here. From our individual perspectives, I learned as much from you as you learned from me.

From one student to another . . .

Thanks.

Driver from the tee, but in a tail wind maybe a 3W is just as good?
3W, if the fairway is not so inviting.
3W from the fairway if more yardage is needed.
Hybrid from the the rough.

Or something like that...?
