Ok. This guy is bad news.

Please don't initiate the downstroke by using the Left Knee. Use the Right Hip. This guy demonstrates a good Backstroke Hip and and Shoulder Turn. The "MacDonald" school. However, you can easily see and test that when your Left knee initiates the Downstroke that the Right Shoulder moves outward. Hard to control. You see him struggling to keep the Right Shoulder under control. Ok, not so bad for an Elbow Plane Swinger but whats the connection between the Left Knee and Right Shoulder. Not direct. When the Left Knee moves Left, the the Left Hip "Rotates" back which "Pulls" the Right Hip and Straightens the Right Leg. Bad. What happens to all that weight on the Right Leg? Ok, not so bad if you keep weight on the Right Leg during the Downstroke, but it doesn't "Drive" the Right Shoulder. To "Drive the Right Shoulder" Downplane, use a "Right Knee Anchor" and initiate the Downstroke by moving the Right Hip. |
But isn't the swing from the feet up both back and down? If that's the case- the L. knee comes in as a good No.2 in the weight shift motion I would believe (after the L. heel down). Am I wrong understanding it like this?

The Flail teaches Acceleration and deceleration, also "Primary Lever" and Uncocking On-Plane. If you want to learn something important, then put your Left Hand in your pocket. Then, PUT THE FLAIL IN YOUR RIGHT HAND. If you can't strike the Ball before the Flail reaches Full Extension, then you're decelerating into impact. Go make a flail. Use your Right Hand. |
Great that you are willing to take the time to correct some of the things I find on the net.
..... and then the usual question. WHEN ? |
Debat?
I'm not sure if you want any debate on the subject, but here is B. J. Hathaway's answer (in bold): The Flail teaches Acceleration and deceleration, also "Primary Lever" and Uncocking On-Plane. Those points are obvious in the video, and who needs to be "taught" deceleration?
If you want to learn something important, then put your Left Hand in your pocket. Then, PUT THE FLAIL IN YOUR RIGHT HAND. If you can't strike the Ball before the Flail reaches Full Extension, then you're decelerating into impact. The uncocking of the right hand is strictly involuntary during release unless you want to train yourself to be a flipper. This guy has missed the entire point of the video. If all you needed was your right hand you may as well play golf sitting in a lounge chair. Go make a flail. Use your Right Hand. For what? you don't need to do anything with your right hand except hold onto the club. B. J. Hathaway, G.S.E.B., T.P.I. Mind Factor Master Coach www.augustagolfinstruction.com Facebook Twitte |

Air, I'm sorry, but we aren't communicating. In the Video, he uses the Flail to Un-Cock into the ball. Yet when he strikes the Ball, he has Rolled and Swiveled correctly. The book includes 3 types of swings based on Pressure Point and wrist conditions. Mass, Velocity and Mass/Velocity |
I don't know what to make of this. I'll see if he wants to answer some more. In the the meantime we have Yoda's video. That should do it !?
